What a crazy day! Got on the truck and heard we were going to "retirement." I've never heard of that one, must be a new track, and must be a long way away. We rode and rode and rode! I guess they wanted us to look our best for the grand opening of this place because we went to a spa! I got a bath, had my nails done, ears cleaned, and everything. I feel all shiny clean, a girl needs a good pampering like this once in a while. Strange people there though. Let me in a kennel then take me back out for bath. Let me back in the kennel then take me back out and flashed a light at me a few times. Let me back in the kennel then take me back out and show me this funny creature they called a 'cat'.... I'm not too sure about that thing but it didn't want to play and the people got all loud when I sniffed it. Let me back in the kennel and took me out AGAIN! Make up your minds people, can we get this party started? Apparently not. They put me in a funny truck and we took another long drive. This truck was softer ad cozier than what I'm used to. And I was the only hound in there! Things were getting strange but by that point I was too exhausted and needed a nap.
Finally that truck stopped and the people took me out and into another place like I have never seen. There are two other hounds here, and a smaller person, and a really little thing-- he says he's a dog and sort of smells like one, but I've never seen a hound that little. The hounds here tell me this is their home. They said they don't race anymore and I won't either. I'm not sure what this is all about. The people gave me food, and said I could lay down wherever I wanted, but I'm not sure I trust all this yet. Have to sleep on it and see what tomorrow holds.

They have these soft things here they call 'beds' I think I like them. Still not too sure why I am here, but it sure is a good place to nap while I think it over.
